Here is my latest commission. He has a brother that is soon to be immortalized as well. Its been a good weekend. Yesterday I got to paint with Tim Horn and some fellow art buddies. It was good seeing Linda Hugues (from Florida) a wonderful painter and internet art friend. Its a reminder how small a world we are in and especially the art world. Jack is a 6x6 acrylic on cradled wood panel.

Mimi
I know, its been awhile. This is Mimi. She is a Maine Coon Cat weighing in at almost 20lbs. She is a birthday gift for her Mom. I ask clients to send several photos of their pet so that I can study the nuances and have choices for compositions. As always, I am attracted to light and shadow. That is what caught my eye for this painting. Mimi is a 6x6 acrylic on cradled wood panel. SOLD

Tropical Orchid
I went to Hawaii last weekend to help my folks with the Manoa Orchid Show. It was good fun. My Mom made mochi and manju to sell as a fundraiser but I got a chance to have some. Sometimes it so good to be home but then California is my home too. My Dad has orchids growing in every possible place around the outside of his house. This painting is from an orchid growing in the front yard. Click here to bid in the DPW auction. 6x6 acrylic on gessobord.

Blue Scooter
I just finished a week long workshop with Carol Marine in the city. It was fantastic and I can't believe how fast the time went :(. Here is one I finished today. We went out a couple of afternoons and took photos for subject matter... I think I shot this scooter 20 times from 20 different angles. Scooters are all over the city. Just when I got to know the parking attendant and the young woman behind the cafe counter, I am saying good-bye. There will be next year, of course. 6x6 oil on panel. It is currently being used for a show with school children.
