acrylic on cradled panel
I am thinking of entering this in a group show but haven't decided yet. I plan on doing one more of the gardener series. My wonderful artist friend Sylvie did a variety of poses while we were at Ft. Mason in the city sometime ago.
I am heading down to Monterey for the 4th Annual Plein Air Convention this week. I am hoping for a time of inspiration and fun. There will be quite a few "rock stars" in the art field giving demos and having panel discussions. There will also be plenty of opportunity to spend money on art supplies. I am hitting Rosemary's Brushes for sure!
Beautiful figure.......my eye loves the quiet blue of the shirt. Have a wonderful time in Monterey. It should be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen! I wish you were going then I could meet you in person!
DeleteThis is a splendid, delightful, wonderful painting! Kaethe, you are the master of figures in sunlight.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shot in the arm!
DeleteYes, I agree. You paint the sunlight like nobody else.
ReplyDeleteThe convention sounds so exciting. You are such role model for me. I always ask myself before I begin to paint "What would Kaethe do?". It makes me slow down and become more strategic.
I think you are the master! Love all your 3 steps!
DeleteThis painting is simply beautiful! Hope to read about the convention. It's on my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteThank you and I will write about the convention!
DeleteLove love love this scene Kaethe. It's full of light and color. The figure is wonderful and I like how you simplified the complex foliage and background city. and Congratulations on winning 3rd place in last month's DPW contest :). Have fun at PACE.
