This is my submission to this week's the "Artist's Choice Challenge" on DPW. The objective is to paint something that is a challenge for the artist. I have many but I would have to say the values and subtleties of color with roses are always a challenge.

Oh Kaethe, you make it look so easy - and I know from bitter experience it isn't! This is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI think the easy part is looking at roses. They are beautiful!
DeleteYou did a great job.I share the frustration on the rose front. Sometimes I feel like it is a puzzle. You solved it.
ReplyDeleteYou were up to the challenge!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris!
DeleteBeautiful rose! I love the way you did the petals and background.
ReplyDeleteI've been browsing through your blog again, Kaethe, and have to say again how much I admire and enjoy all your work. Two of my absolute favorites, however, are the "Bassetts Are Waiting" and "Home Port" -- I could study them for days and still find more at which to marvel.
