My friend Birgit used to live in a hundred year old house. I loved the interior. I have been lucky enough for her to occasionally pass on photographs that I have used as reference material. This is one of those shots!
LOVE this one!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue and congrats on your recent sale!
DeleteI like the warm touch amidst the greys of the cat's tummy, as well as the pink of the ears. You've captured the languid gesture perfectly, but I also admire your work on the chair upholstery and all its various tones and planes. As always, wonderful depiction of the light - super, Kaethe!
ReplyDeleteThank you Helene! That chair had almost the same draw as the cat for me wanting to paint this!
Deletethis is charming! I like the use of the old fabric against the white cat. - well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you! They are very different from one another...the cat and the chair. It made it fun to paint.
DeleteI love the shape and color of the ears mixing in so well with the chair fabric. The face is precious.
ReplyDeleteAnything you paint is always outstanding. A pleasure!
Thank you Julie!
DeleteSo beautiful Kaethe! The cat looks velvety soft as does the chair - (I imagine it is made of velvet but realise it might not be!) Love the light streaming in and the cat's sleepy countenance.
ReplyDeleteNot only are you multi talented but you are so smart! My vocabulary just grew by adding the word countenance! Thank you Wendy!
DeleteI read too many Jane Austen novels - haha!
DeleteStunning......
