The Window

I have been away camping in Tahoe for the last week. I haven't had much of a chance to paint until today. This is from the Daily Paint Works Challenge. The reference photo was in black and white . The challenge was to translate the image into color. The painting is a 5x7 acrylic on cradled wood panel and is up for auction on the DPW site. Click here to bid.

Poolside

I am fortunate to have a niece that doesn't mind that I have painted her and her daughter 50 million times. This is from a photo I took of them at a family gathering. I think I was struck by thier quiet moment in the midst of all the chatter. This is a 9x12 oil on canvas. You can see this painting at the newly renovated Impulse Gallery. SOLD

The Painter

Last year I attended a great workshop with Peggi Kroll Roberts (phenomenal teacher BTW). It was a 5 day outdoor figure class. I was able to take photos of the models and as you can see, some participants. The class was at a winery in Lodi. You can see the barrels in the background. This is an 8x10, acrylic on clayboard. Sold.

To Go

This piece is a submission I did for the Daily Paint Works challenge on reflections. I set up the arrangement on the galley counter. Can you see the fridge in the back? This is proof that I don't suffer living on a boat. Yes, its double sided.

The Conversation

The Conversation is 16x20 oil on canvas. I painted this from a photo I took at my niece's babyshower. The figures are my mother in-law, sister in-law and aunt. If you look in the background you'll see the Oscar. It was a decor piece used as a promotion at Nordstrom's. This painting is currently on display at  The Alameda County Fair. It received a Silver Award. Just to get in is satisfaction enough. The fair ends this Sunday. SOLD
