Pinks

Its been almost 2 weeks since my last post. I managed to finish (I think?) this one for the Civic Arts show. This is a 6x8 acrylic on cradled wood panel. I think I have been channeling Lisa Daria. She does wonderful expressive floral paintings. I do like the abstract quality on this and I feel like if I worked on it more, I would dilute some the energy it has. Any thoughts out there?

  1. Just like being a parent of a grown child...let the painting go off of the "parental brush" and let your "little darlin" be...
A famous writer once said about the editing process "you have to murder your little darlings". I hate the word murder but he means..leave it alone.

  2. Very nice, Kaethe, and it looks done to me. Definitely "Lisa Daria-esque"! I love the delicate pastel palette. Very peaceful.

  3. Beautiful! Yes, knowing when to stop is the hardest part. It's perfect as it is, fresh and vibrant.
