My friend Birgit used to live in a hundred year old house. I loved the interior. I have been lucky enough for her to occasionally pass on photographs that I have used as reference material. This is one of those shots!

  1. I like the warm touch amidst the greys of the cat's tummy, as well as the pink of the ears. You've captured the languid gesture perfectly, but I also admire your work on the chair upholstery and all its various tones and planes. As always, wonderful depiction of the light - super, Kaethe!

    1. Thank you Helene! That chair had almost the same draw as the cat for me wanting to paint this!

    1. Thank you! They are very different from one another...the cat and the chair. It made it fun to paint.

  3. I love the shape and color of the ears mixing in so well with the chair fabric. The face is precious.
Anything you paint is always outstanding. A pleasure!

  4. So beautiful Kaethe! The cat looks velvety soft as does the chair - (I imagine it is made of velvet but realise it might not be!) Love the light streaming in and the cat's sleepy countenance.
