This is a commission that is overdue. Thanks to all of you who have commissions and are understanding about it.Your kindness is really appreciated! I have been working through the loss of my father and couldn't pick up a paintbrush. He was proud of me and the urge to paint has started to return. I am on it!
I am posting a progression of "Cafe"on instagram. Come follow me @kaethe_bealer.
Here's a blog posting from artbizblog.com that I thought was helpful about grief and art.
'Hannah' is absolutely beautiful! What a great job. Kaethe, so sorry about your father. Thoughts and Prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteThank you Charleen!
DeleteKaethe you are in such understandable grief and you paint a lovely work with really strong shadows. I find that interesting. It is a powerful painting. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so sorry for your loss.
This is great Kaethe!!! Well done.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet and sunny vignette, and you've captured Hannah's complete absorption wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to learn that it was the loss of your father that sidelined you, Kaethe, but pleased that you're gradually finding your way back. I send warmest thoughts your way.
Thanks everyone. It's good to have the passion coming back. I was worried for a minute that I had lost something. It was really being on "pause" and having it be okay that allowed me to come back.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are feeling the flow again, Kaethe. A lovely painting.
ReplyDeleteA huge loss like that certainly takes it out of us artists. Please accept my true sympathy.
Thank you Julie! I really appreciate you checking in with me during my absence! You have a big heart!
DeleteSo sorry to hear about your father Kaethe, such a terribly sad time for you.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased that you have been able to pick up the brushes again to help you through your grief. "Hannah" is really lovely!
