Day 17

6x6
acrylic on cradled panel

The idea for this came from my break room conversation with the guys..."Have you ever thought of painting a hamburger?"  What better time than now?

Today was an art filled day! I went to the open studio at Las Positas College and then took a break from figure painting to attend Carolyn Lord's talk at the Grand Theatre in Tracy, CA. If you are local. its a wonderful show to see. I learned a lot about the inspiration for Carolyn's work. The history of the area and how we use our space was compelling  in Carolyn's talk. I didn't know that Tracy was a railroad town or that Livermore was on Russia's hit list as the second target after DC during the Cold War. Learn more about Carolyn's exhibit "Local Presence".

  1. Wonderful composition, Kaethe, and so well painted that it makes me hungry...maybe burgers on the BBQ tonight?
Seriously, this couldn't have been an easy subject, but as always you make it appear to be.
