Great repetition of form in the rounded curve of the dog's back, the hills, even some rounded flowers.super color, Kaethe! They're bound to love it!
Thanks Dean. I was actually worried about the background being too similar to the contour of the body.
The flowers and path give this painting real depth. I get the feeling Honey has been on a happy romp! You are SUCH a fabulous painter, Kaethe
Honey gets to go on many happy romps! She is a lucky dog! Thank you Julie!
This bring pet painting to a new level because it adds the story telling element. What is he looking at? Where has he been? What time of year it is. Plus it is just hands down great painting.
Thank you for taking the time to comment Jo! Honey's parents tell me that they get along so well because they have similar interests ... :)
I'm with Jo. I love that the painting has a narrative. It even has a time of year with the beautiful poppies. And Honey is so alert....something is going on. You did a great job Kaethe.
Thanks Helen! I am enjoying your posts. You are a hard working artist!
I love what the orange poppies bring to the scene - wonderfully rendered. Oh my, that sounds so stuffy - you know what I mean. Makes me want to look even closer!
It was the poppies that made me want to paint this particular pose!
love it. more poppies please!
