Honey

This is a commission that I have been working on for a little while. Honey is a very sweet dog who loves hiking, as you can see :)

  1. Great repetition of form in the rounded curve of the dog's back, the hills, even some rounded flowers.

    1. Thanks Dean. I was actually worried about the background being too similar to the contour of the body.

  3. This bring pet painting to a new level because it adds the story telling element. What is he looking at? Where has he been? What time of year it is. Plus it is just hands down great painting.

  4. I'm with Jo. I love that the painting has a narrative. It even has a time of year with the beautiful poppies. And Honey is so alert....something is going on. You did a great job Kaethe.

  5. I love what the orange poppies bring to the scene - wonderfully rendered. Oh my, that sounds so stuffy - you know what I mean. Makes me want to look even closer!
