The Bassets are Waiting

I could not resist the light and shadow in this. Dogs are one of my favorite things to paint!

  2. Kaethe, not an easy one to paint. The shadows are terrific and you did not lose the dog in the shadow. Absolutely great.

  3. Nobody does the sunlight and shadow thing as successfully as you do. I think you where the first one to articulate it to me. Doing it well and consistently that is the really tricky part.

  6. Hi Kaethe, what a great painting of these beautiful dogs! Such a lovely sun-shiny coat the one in the foreground has!
    I have just realised I was remiss in not commenting on your 30 day challenge - what a great achievement! I particularly loved the cat on the couch and wish I had got in quicker before it sold!

    My Fifo Daddy is such a great concept and you've done really beautiful paintings. So nice for you to collaborate with your niece on such a special project. I hope to finally order it in the next few days - I'm looking forward to having my own copy!
