acrylic on panel
This is "Earth Mover" its one of many small paintings that I am doing for a project in collaboration with my niece Aimee. This is of my nephew Rory who works as a heavy machine operator at an outpost in western Australia.
Happy Labor Day!
We'll see how many paintings I can get done this month!
What a wonderful start to the Challenge! You have such a knack for making a gorgeous work of art out of any subject...
ReplyDeleteThank you Meredith! I normally would not have chosen this subject but it has a dual purpose for the challenge and the project.
DeleteNicely done! I love heavy equipment.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra. I like following your work!
DeleteLove how the yellows and golds travel through the painting. Nice day 1 painting.
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen!
DeleteFull of life, well done
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret!
DeleteI really like this! AND I do not know how i missed this until now but you paint in acrylics and they look like oils. That is such a gift!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marcia. I use Golden Opens so that I can use my palette for a couple of weeks.
DeleteWow, this is great Kaethe! I thought this looked very West Australian just by the colours! You didn't sneak over here for a visit without telling me did you - or are you painting from photos?
ReplyDeleteA great start to the challenge. I think I am doing it too!!
The reference photos come from my niece Aimee who lives in Madurah. Believe me, we would have been painting together if I were there!
DeleteI hope you do come to visit one of these days!! We will paint up a storm!
