This is also a painting I did from a reference photo on Wet Canvas. This will mark the last of my insect series for awhile. So, I won't be "bugging" you. I know, I know but I just had to say it. :) 4x4 acrylic on gessobord.
Lovely to see the dragonfly series Kaethe, what thrilled me was their shimmering, translucent wings and the sense that at any moment they would take off and vanish. Excellent subject matter beautifully rendered.
Love your dragonfly series Kaethe - all painted beautifully! I too love dragonflies - there is something magical about them.
ReplyDeleteI see them as helicopters or ferries depending on my mood :)
DeleteSorry to see that your dragonfly series is coming to an end. I've enjoyed seeing your bugs!

Thank you Patti. It is the touch that perhaps makes him more real.
DeleteThe blue vibrating next to the grays makes my heart beat faster. More please Kaethe.
ReplyDeleteI know. Nature has more neutrals are out there with color as the gem. I will be following your expertise on that one!
DeleteThis is a little marvel. So well done! Congrat
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen. I have to admit that after Dragonfly #3, I was ready to move on but I will come back to the subject.
